It all began in 2016 when we were paired up as “orientation buddies” at the UConn School of Nursing. Fast forward to 2018 when our friendship took a turn for the romantic. Luke kept Sarah from stressing too much about school and Sarah helped Luke’s GPA survive, a true academic power couple. After graduation, we both became nurses at Yale New Haven Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, naturally on opposite shifts, because nothing says “quality time” like waving in the parking lot. We made up for it by traveling whenever we could, including more Disney trips than we would like to admit. In 2022, Sarah started her PhD at Columbia University and Luke followed her to New York City soon after. We have called the Upper West Side home for the past three years, which is long enough to have a favorite pizzeria and a backup favorite pizzeria (though it still doesn't compare to New Haven). Then came the big moment. With help from Julia, Luke managed to lure Sarah away from her computer (while she was frantically finishing her dissertation) to pop the question on a perfect sunny day in Central Park. It was magical, and Sarah said yes! We have always dreamed of an October wedding and when the venue told us their last Saturday available was Halloween, we didn’t hesitate for a second. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
