LaMont and I were in two different choirs who were performing at a church. There was a tornado warning and the choirs had to seek shelter in the basement. While waiting for the storm to pass, I was introduced to LaMont. Two months later, after performing Mozart's Reqium in choir together on February 15, 2014, he asked to watch movies together at his dorm. We both were not anticipating that night of laughter and sharing stories about each other's lives would begin a love neither one of us have experienced.

Being together for 5 years, we have talked on several occasions on how we will be engaged. I always was adamant about LaMont not proposing at a public place like a restaurant. I wanted it to be an intimate moment for us. For LaMont's 25th birthday, I decided to invite LaMont's family to the Blue Nile, LaMont's favorite restaurant. He had always wanted to share this experience of the restaurant with me. After waiting an hour for our table (somehow they lost our reservation) we finally sat with his family and ate an amazing dinner. LaMont turned to me and started talking to me. I look around and everyone has their phones out pointed at us. "Oh my gosh! This is really happening" I kept thinking. I honestly don't remember a single thing he said until he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was a perfect moment.
