We first met at the BX on McChord Air Force Base at our first military assignments. He saw me in the cleaning aisle and decided to follow me around the store and into the checkout lane until he finally got the courage to say, "So are you new here or did you fail a room inspection?" (stellar pick-up line). Unfortunately, he forgot to get my number so the only option was to go to the dining facility for every meal to try to find me, because where else would a new Airman eat on base? Two days later, he saw me in the sandwich line, finally asked for my number, and sent mea text later that day to ask me out. I, unfortunately, was on swing shift (3 PM-11 PM) and he was on day shift, so what was a boy to do? Take me to Denny's, the only place that was open that late at night, and lock her down (everyone likes breakfast food right?)! That night, after my shift, we spent hours talking at Denny's, he got 2 hours of sleep, and the rest is history.
As many people know, a favorite, though odd, past time of ours is to go to multi-million dollar open houses to look at design and architecture. He took me to a stunning 3 million dollar home in Dallas to look at, and while we were on the second floor, he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. Of course, I said yes, and we were engaged!
