Sarah & Kohler first met at Cunningham Falls State Park in Maryland. Every year, Kohler's family and many of Sarah's best girlfriends would join other families from the neighborhood of Hillandale, Maryland, on a camping trip to the park, and that year Sarah came along as well! The group spent the weekend hiking, playing flag football, and enjoying roaring campfires. Throughout middle and high school, Kohler and Sarah would meet yearly during this annual tradition.

After years of annual camping trips, Kohler finally made his move. Having recently transferred to the same high school as Sarah, he asked her to the Fall Homecoming Dance (check out the first-date picture under the photos tab)! What followed was a decade of high school proms and college formals; four years of long-distance dating; moves to Pittsburgh, back to Maryland, and back to Pittsburgh again; and 11 years together!

Sarah and Kohler are both proud graduates of the University of Pittsburgh. At the end of Sarah's third semester of grad school, and after over a decade of dating, they spent a cold Saturday morning walking around Pitt's campus together. In front of Heinz Chapel's iconic red doors and across from the Cathedral of Learning (their two favorite buildings on campus), Kohler dropped to one knee and asked Sarah to marry him. Of course, she immediately said yes! Kohler and Sarah are very excited for the next chapter in their lives together!
