Mount Baldhead Stairs + Dune Hike
If you are feeling adventurous, you can climb the 304 steps to get to the top of Mt. Baldy. Bonus points for multiple trips! If you prefer a scenic route, hike down the dune to Oval Beach. For a leisurely experience, drive to Oval Beach to explore without breaking a sweat.
Virtue Cider
Our favorite! Taste Greg Hall's latest project after Goose Island - proper farmhouse ciders from local apples and employ traditional farmhouse production methods. Virtue Farm is a wonderful place to spend the day walking the trails, seeing the animals, enjoying the sunshine in the summertime or sitting by a fire on those colder days with a charcuterie board and of course a glass of cider. We would recommend reserving a spot to ensure seating!
Pennyroyal Cafe & Provisions
A must for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Melissa Corey, Executive Chef and fellow Chicago-native, is the youngest “Chopped” winner who formerly worked at Publican Quality Meats. Check out the farmers market barn in back!
