How did he propose you ask? He had great intentions to propose during a photo shoot he had set up with one of our photographer friends…she texted me one night asking if Josh and I would model for her at a specific location, I never turn down free photos! However, we had just taken pictures not too long ago so I didn’t think Josh would be down for another photo shoot, but to my surprise he didn’t complain one bit when I asked him, weird! The week of our shoot I ended up having to cancel my hair appointment so I asked if we could reschedule, you know….priorities. Then, It was Thanksgiving break and Josh and I were looking for something to do…the weather was nice, so we decided to take a drive to Stockton lake and walk around. Side note: I had just gotten a new car and hadn’t experienced the gas light before…well turns out my car gives you 20 miles once the gas light comes on. We were on backroads without a gas station in sight…we were counting down the miles, watching the GPS just to see how many more miles were left while watching the gas gauge sink…usually this type of thing would stress Josh out, but not today, also weird. We ended up rolling into town just in time, filled up, and headed down to the lake. We walked down to the water and were standing on the outcropping rocks, Josh asks if we should take a picture…also weird, but I didn’t think anything about it, so he set up a “self-timer” and as soon as we are about ready for the picture he pulls the ring out of his pocket and gets on one knee. I gave him the weirdest look and asked what he was doing…I was so shocked! We always knew we would get engaged one day but had planned on waiting until he graduated college, which was still 2 years out! I just couldn’t believe this was really happening! Now, here we are, Josh recently graduated and we are planning a wedding.
