There are two parks in Inlet. Arrowhead is within easy walking distance of Woods Inn and has a large children’s playground, baseball field, tennis courts, board walk, a dog walking area, and a sand beach with a life guard. Fern Park is less than a mile from the Woods Inn and features a small children’s playground, baseball field, basketball court, and hiking trails.
McCauley Mountain, is located 14 miles from Inlet in Old Forge. It is a popular ski resort in the winter, in the summer it features a scenic chairlift which gives a beautiful view of the Fulton Chain of Lakes that stretch to the High Peaks.
Eagle Bay is a few miles from Inlet. Inlet is on 4th Lake, and the first 5 lakes in the Fulton Chain of Lakes are all connected, so you can explore several lakes in one trip. Dunn'ss Boat Service has lots of options for renting boats and pontoons.
Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake is 29 miles from Inlet. The museum hosts interactive exhibits, hands-on-activities, and culturally rich collections. On August 24th, they are featuring regional Indigenous artists showcasing their unique artwork.
There are a few small local stores in Inlet. Ten miles south of Inlet on Route 28 is Old Forge which has a wide assortment of art shops, gift stores, Adirondack themed stores, etc. Check out a favorite—the Old Forge Hardware Store located at 104 Fulton Street. It has been a mainstay in Old Forge for years, and features a little bit of this and a little bit of that--much more than you would expect to see in a hardware store!
Pontoon boats, power boats, and fishing boats are available for rental.
