Carissa Gagnon

Matron of Honor

Sarah and I first met when I was 8 and she was 11 in a Christian basketball league, where we barely spoke to each other. It wasn’t until Sarah’s senior year of high school that we would meet again and begin a life long friendship. Little did we know at 8 and 11 years old what close friends we would become. I’ve been able to have the honor to be in Sarah’s life for some of her biggest milestones and highlights. I got to be with her for her first time ever buying jeans, spending several holidays and birthdays together to sleepovers that led to rolling on the floor laughing. With that we also have been able to grow in Christ together talking through hardships and lessons we faced, along with planning what we were going to do in the future and being able to see those plans unfold or change as we grew. I’m extremely thankful for the encouragement she’s been on my life and how much she cares for the Lord and His plans! I’m beyond blessed to have seen the very first steps of Joseph and Sarah’s relationship and I’m over the moon excited to join them in this new journey of marriage!! May God bless you both!

I've known my brother all my life, and I couldn't imagine being the person I am today without him. Joseph's a great leader, a great role model, and a great older brother. I always tried to be like him when we were kids, and in a lot of ways today, I still do. You're going to be a wonderful husband, and an even better father someday. Congratulations brother! I love you and wish you and Sarah all the best.

Maid of Honor

When I first met Sarah Sky, it was 2016 and we were both about to volunteer at a church respite event. During the following months we got to know each other through disability and church events. I watched her selflessly serving children and adults with special needs, I thought to myself “this girl is actually really cool!” - no that wasn’t my initial impression but her actions showed a Christlike love for people. Together we’ve gotten to walk through the confusion of early adulthood, the pressures of figuring out life trajectory in college, and the pains of finding ourselves in our early 20s. Through the belly roll laughter and the dark moment tears, what has been a constant is God’s faithful love for this girl and her heart that wants to seek His face. I can’t wait to get to walk with her during this next part of her life and see what God does next.

Since we were kids running around the pool I've looked up to Joseph, even when he was the reason I was running. Joey has helped me navigate my way through life in many ways and he continues to do so. I'm especially thankful for his encouragement and guidance on my journey with the Lord. He's a kind man who never fails to speak his mind, which is what I admire most about my Uncle. Congratulations on finding the love of your life, I know you are going to be a great husband.

For years, my friendship with Sarah has been a treasured part of my life. From our first meeting as children, we've shared countless memories, supported each other through every twist and turn, and celebrated each milestone with joy. Watching her grow into the remarkable person she is today has been a privilege, and witnessing her find a partner who cherishes her as much as she deserves is truly heartwarming. Our bond has been a source of strength and happiness, and I'm grateful to be part of this beautiful new chapter in her life. Here's to a lifetime of love and laughter for Sarah and Joseph!

Joseph and I go WAY back to three years ago where we met at Trinity Community Church. At first, I was kinda weary about that guy, but when he flashed his award-winning smile, our friendship began. Since then, Joseph and I became close friends and bonded over our mutual love for Christ and for telling people about the Gospel! We began an evangelism ministry together where we would go to college campuses to share the Good News as well as equip others to do the same. Joseph has always been a faithful friend and we exchange many laughs and corny jokes (although his jokes are way more corny). I’m always encouraged and challenged at Joseph’s desire to know Christ and to make Him known. When Joseph first told me about his liking to Sarah, I immediately jabbed his side and told him to ask her out! Joseph slowly began to work up the courage to do so, and thankfully, eventually did. The Lord has used Sarah has made Joseph a better friend, boyfriend, and man of God. I am so thankful to God for our friendship!

I met Sarah in 2021. It feels much longer than only 3 years of friendship. We met through City Without Orphans and since then we have been close friend. She’s a special friend that encourages me through her love for God and community she places herself around. We have shared so many great memories, day adventures, and fun library study nights at Fresno Stat University, I cannot wait to see how God guides her in this next season of life with Joseph.

Joseph and I first got acquainted at Trinity Community Church and after meeting up with him several times we became good friends and brothers for life. Joseph is funny, kind, and someone you can always count on. Joseph you are a Jonathan and that makes me King David. If y'all didn't catch that read your Bible lol. I love you dear brother and give thanks to the LORD almighty that he has blessed you with your wife to be, Sarah.

I remember when I first met Sarah it was at camp for families impacted with disabilities, it was one night that she offered me a cookie I knew that she was so sweet to do that even though she didn’t know who I was. The next few years of seeing her at camp were some of our closest. Sarah was my brother’s volunteer. By the time the week at camp came to an end I had a death grip on her. I didn’t want to leave her. Sarah is so kind hearted. She has played a significant part in my life. She’s been a sister, friend, and mentor. I love her for the love that she has for Christ and for the church as well as family. We have had many shared experiences. Sarah has laughed and cried with me and each of those experiences have made us grow closer to each other. I’m so excited for her to be marrying the man of her dreams and ultimately the one that the Lord had for her all along. I’ve been praying for this moment for a long time. I’m so excited to see what the lord has for her in this new chapter of life!

I first met Brother Joseph at a men’s conference, where a little seating mix-up led to a great friendship (I may have taken his seat!). He graciously invited me to join him for Sunday service that day, and from that moment, our bond began it’s brotherhood. Joseph has been an incredible blessing in my walk with Christ and has positively impacted those around him. He opened his home for great fellowship and deep biblical studies of God word, and always provide a place for that love and bond to grow, showcasing his generous spirit. I see him growing into the man that God has designed him to be, and I have no doubt that he will be a wonderful husband and father in the future. I am truly grateful for him as my brother and for the person he is becoming. Very blessed to be apart of his journey towards his future and honored to be beside him through it all. All glory to God!

Sarah has been just like a big sister ever since I can remember. I was 3 years old when I first met her. I’m so blessed to have her in my life and am so excited that she’s getting married! I enjoy her fun spunky attitude/personality and I enjoy laughing with her and having conversations with her. She’s come so far and I’m happy she’s asked me to be in her wedding. I’m excited she’s found the man of her dreams and is now going off to get married! She’s truly a blessing!

Brother Joseph and I met at Men’s conference and later on we met again at the college group. We build a good friendship and started doing studies at Kuppa Joy and playing FIFA at Casa de Joey with Vince and Christian. We learned from each other, had agreements and disagreements. We have challenged each other, laughed, grown and have lived life with each other. It has been a pleasure meeting him and I am happy for the new journey and chapter in his life. One good thing about Joseph is that he loves to share Jesus at Fresno state and Woodward park :)
