They were once single people in the sea of people, separated by thousands of miles, in separate cities and states, living with no knowledge of each other’s existence. Until the fateful morning of December 12, 2023, Sarah was celebrating just another year in her life. And like every year, wishes of happy birthday poured from everywhere. And among those wishes was a particular WhatsApp post that read something along the lines of, “taking application only from those making six figures,” from Sarah’s beloved brother-in-law, Armel. A post that was not so much of a joke, caught the attention of our charming Jonathan who was blown away by this brown woman whose beauty brought the smell of Spring in his heart in the midst of a cold Winter day. Without wasting any time, he picked up his phone and reached out to his friend with a reminder of his painful singleness and sorrowful search for a lifetime partner. After days of convincing, he was finally given the phone number that he had so painstakingly fought a long battle for. But a new war was already on the horizon, he had now to win the heart of his fair maiden. As J.K Rowling said, “A good first impression can work wonders.” Hence, our captivating Jonathan mastered his communication skills, and with every conversation, he was drawing her in from “Good Morning” to “Good Night” without forgetting to seek God’s guidance. Our lovebirds had already started their walk down the aisle. After exactly three weeks of endless conversations over the phone, bewitched by the warmth that filled his days, “I love you,” Jonathan uttered those three words, a secret, his heart could no longer hold to. Sarah, on the other hand, was taken aback. Scared and shocked by the words that she had just heard, “Thank you,” was all she could respond to this storm that was little by little sweeping her off. And without giving up, the enchanting Jonathan repeated those words the following day to let her know that he had meant every syllable and stroke of those words. Being even faster than Barry Allen, Jonathan travelled to Minnesota in January giving our lovebirds their chance to a first date together. Determined to not leave this date single, Jonathan popped the question, “Would you be my girlfriend?” “Yes,” the gorgeous Sarah responded, finally freeing her heart from the shackles of her fears and worries. It was then official that they had started to write a story that would forever intertwine their values, their principles, their ambitions, their choices, their future... On August 4th, after racking his brain over and over again on how to proceed, a nervous Jonathan who had decided on a private event got on one knee in front of close family and friends and asked a not-so-surprised Sarah to entrust her life to him. The lovebirds had already at this point shared multiple conversations on the subject of marriage. It was as clear as dawn's first light, an obvious choice revealed in the soft glow of certainty that each conversation brought, “Yes,” was the only correct answer she could give to his request. When Jonathan was asked to talk about the woman who will soon be his wife, he said lovingly, “Sarah is my God sent through her I see that God is beyond our comprehension, she is indeed my God sent.” And when Sarah was asked to talk about the man who will soon be her husband, with a smile that filled her face, she said, “Jonathan is the answer to my prayers and has been My Best friend and will forever be.” Thus, begins another journey that both took the time to prepare for, with support and guidance from those who have walked these roads before them.
