John was visiting Phoenix, AZ for his annual thanksgiving weekend trip to see old friends Marc, Keri, and Brenda to watch Ohio State play the team up north with the local alumni group. Like every year, that night was the ASU game and tailgating on campus. Little did he know his friends who he'd known for 6 years now would be inviting someone to join that evening. Sarah was getting ready to watch the annual Arizona State v U of A game and realized she couldn't get the game on TV at home. She called her friend Brenda to see if she was going to go out for drinks and to watch the game. She met at her friend Marc's house and someone she hadn't met before was already there. Sarah and John didn't chat much at Marc's, hanging out with other guests. Everyone hopped in an Uber to head to ASU's campus to the tailgate. A couple hours later Sarah, Brenda, and John went to a local bar to watch the game. Sarah definitely caught John's attention and he invited her down to the seat next to his. They got to chatting and realized they had a connection past their mutual friends. Sarah was a middle school math teacher and John was an Architect who designs and works on K-12 schools. The night was a fun time thereafter getting to know each other and they decided to keep talking after John went back to Dallas. They decided to make long distance work and visits were done about once a month until June of 2021 Sarah decided to move back home to Texas and here we are now!
