Our People

Meet our crazy, kind, wild, life-giving friends that we love so much!!!!

Ella Daniel

Matron of Honor

My angel! Ella and I met on a mission trip that we took to Jamaica our freshman year of college! She also helped me drop the greatest music video of all time for our English 1102 class. Ella knew Jep and I individually, before we started dating, and has been a source of wisdom as I've had to navigate singleness, dating, and now this engagement season. She possesses qualities that are so much like Jesus. I remember helping her get ready on her wedding day, praying and sharing tears, as God was preparing her heart. Now I am BEYOND honored that she will be standing next to me for mine.

Devin Burns

Best Man

"I Do Declare!" that Devin Burns is my Best Man! Devin and I both did Wesley at UGA and lived together at College Glen during the 2016-2017 school year. We both started dating Sarahs at the same time (and both resulted in marriage!). The two of us and our Sarahs formed the "Core Four", a movement that is still going strong today.

Sarah Thomas

Bridesmaid

CIAO Bella! Sarah Ruth Thomas is the best, best friend. We met our sophomore year of college on a UGA Wesley mission trip to Jamaica. One of my favorite early memories of our friendship was when I dislocated my knee on a retreat that we were at together. Though that injury sucked in the moment, she made sure to check up on me and just take care of me that weekend. Since then, her care and friendship have given me the greatest joy. She was one of the first people that knew Jep and I were dating, and she encouraged me to keep saying yes to something good. Sarah is a necessity to one of the most important and beautiful days of my life!

Ryne Anderson

Groomsman

Ryne is one my best college friends and maybe the funniest person I know (sorry y'all, you gotta step it up!). Ryne and I knew each other through Wesley and hanging out with Mark Madison. We share a mutual love of movies, which led to Ryne studying film in school and making a short film called Broken that I assistant-directed (it's on our Facebook!). Ryne even called the whole La La Land/Moonlight Oscars snafu a full three minutes before it happened! Ryne can currently be found Dungeon Master-ing for D&D games.

Scottlyn James

Bridesmaid

@ScottlynNotTheCountry!!! Scottlyn is my fellow JumboTron pal. She is the best I know at rallying others together to support things that are good. I first met Scottlyn my freshman year of college as we joined a small group together. Since then, we have been to many UGA Football games (hence the JumboTron), lived together, and worked side by side at Wesley. She is the greatest encourager of my dreams and planned our whole engagement party so beautifully. Our wedding will be so much fuller with Scottlyn by our side every step of the way!

Mark Madison

Groomsman

Mark Madison is the stuff of legend. We knew each other through Freshley at Georgia, and he invited me one night to hang out with him and his friends at Cookout. I showed up, and after the fastest and funniest hour-and-a-half of my life, I knew I had a new friend group. Mark has a laugh that sounds more like he's saying "yoooouuuu!" in a high-pitched voice (you'll be laughing like that too after hanging out with him!). He's also from Vidalia and currently works at United Way.

Mallory Vanderford

Bridesmaid

MAL PAL! Mallory has been one of the biggest blessings I've had for a friend. She's known me since Middle School, seeing my best, worst, and definitely most awkward moments. I first met Mallory through being friends with Alexis, my other Bridesmaid. Mallory is one of the people that championed me the most as I was first getting to know Jesus personally, and for that I am forever in debt to her goodness. We have cruised together through the Bahamas, danced together at Prom, and now I'm honored to have her stand with me during this sweet time.

Kevin Middlebrooks

Groomsman

Kevin is one of the sweetest people I know and is always refreshing to be around. We met in Jamaica on our Freshley mission trip freshman year and stayed friends throughout college. He's very musical (one time I sat with my jaw dropped as he took requests on the recorder), and practices music therapy. He even has a new album out called Oasis! Kevin and I still hang out in the Atlanta area and watch Studio Ghibli movies at his apartment, with his pet bird Kazooie!

Alexis Evans

Bridesmaid

My BEAUTY queen!!!!! Alexis is my oldest friend out of all my bridesmaids. When I first moved from Texas to Georgia, it was hard for me to find my niche. Though after Alexis and I became friends, Georgia became a place that I was thankful for instead of bitter towards. She and I were neighbors growing up, and my dad credits Alexis for helping me branch out of my shell and dress cuter nonetheless. We were a dynamic duo in high school, and every time I see her now I am always reminded of home. Couldn't imagine this day without her!

Will Goodwin

Groomsman

Willie G was my discipler at Wesley for two years, my Freshley Prayer small group leader, and finally my co-intern at Wesley. So basically I've opened up to him more than just about anybody. He always has wise advise and understands the heart of God very well. He loves nature and has had all different lengths of both head hair and beard hair throughout his life. (What will he look like next? Who knows?). And after Wesley he became a youth pastor!

Kalie Brown

Bridesmaid

@KeepingUpWithKalie!!!!!! Kalie is my free-spirit, kind, and passionate bestie. We met through Alexis in 9th grade, and after multiple attempts, I finally convinced her to be friends with me! Our favorite memories involve trips to the beach, dancing in my Dad's computer room, and laughing till we cried. Kalie brings out the wild in everyone around her, and sets a standard of boldness for others to follow. She encourages me to be silly and not live life so seriously. The thought of having Kalie by my side already makes our wedding 1000x more fun.

Will Robinson

Groomsman

Will and I got to know each other on a Freshley mission trip to Jamaica our freshman year of college. He then lived at Surrey Square with three more of my groomsmen (Mark, Ryne, and Kevin), so we hung out as much as possible. Will and I shared a love of politics (though I didn't share his love of the New England Patriots) and took Personal Finance together as Super Seniors. He lives in scenic Jacksonville, Florida writing for the Jacksonville Business Journal. Read his articles!

MaryCate Marchert

Bridesmaid

My Trap Queen!!!! MaryCate is my little disco-ball: FUN, a source of light, and a true atmosphere changer! She and I met when we went to Jamaica on a Mission Trip with Wesley. There we quickly realized that we had similar stories and personalities. My funniest moments are with MaryCate. We became roommates while interning at Wesley, and have all the music videos to prove it. Living with her has made me freer, wiser, and more of who God made me to be. I can not think of a better person to help calm my nerves or get our reception started like this girl can! SO honored that she is one of my people.

Kristen Carter

Bridesmaid

HEYYY Miss Carter!!!!! Kristen was my college roommate from sophomore year to senior year! Freshman year, we also lived on the same floor of Brumby Hall. She and I met after dropping from sorority rush. Then days later, we realized that we got placed in the same Freshley small group. Throughout college, she was my sister and we took care of each other through all the highs and lows. She has helped me become more open-minded, ambitious, and unashamed in who I am created to be. I'm so thankful that those late-night talks about what our wedding day might be like can now become a reality.

Brittany Whelan

Bridesmaid

My SIS!!!!!!! Brittany is so special to me. We became friends my senior year of high school, and friendship with her has changed me forever. We knew of each other because of Ms. Ratcliff, one of our former teachers and mentors, but later bonded in Weight Training because of how similar we were. One Sunday, Ms. Ratcliff took us both to Passion City Church where we gave our lives to Jesus. Then, a few months later, Brittany and I got baptized together. Since then, I have seen her as a life-long sister that I always want to cherish and care for. She is MAGNETIC. People are so drawn towards her beauty and authenticity. Being around her makes you want to live life more transformed, and it's so easy to love her!!!!
