JD and Sarah had met briefly at Ball State University in early 2011 and JD sent Sarah a friend request on Facebook a few weeks later. JD messaged Sarah asking her if she had a card table he could borrow for a project. This question sparked what would be the first of many conversations, which would lead the two to eventually meet in person. On their first date they played a game of battleship using pizza boxes as the boards and breadsticks as the battleships. The rest is history. P.S. JD never needed a card table for a project.
