We met in 2016 in Sarah’s hometown of Santa Cruz, CA. From our first date, we were inseparable. Jayson had decided to essentially live at work or in his transformed truck bed to save money and after 3 months, bought a house in his hometown of Chico, CA. Jayson asked me to make the move with him and the rest is history. We turned our house into a home and have built an amazing life together. After 7 years of dating, Jayson got down on one knee and proposed in one of our favorite places; on the beach in Jaco, Costa Rica. Fun fact: Our dating anniversary is 5/5/16. We have kept our dating anniversary date as our wedding date. The day we say "I Do” we will have been together for 9 years. We have decided to get married at Odyssey Winery in Chico, CA. We are frequent visitors to this beautiful place as it is just a few miles from our house. In July 2024, the Park Fire ravaged through our community and was heading straight for the winery. Jayson knew he needed to help the amazing people who run the winery and the venue itself. At that time, Jayson was assigned as a strike team leader and made the decision to assign some of the engines from his strike team to protect the winery. He spent all night there defending the winery against the fire, if Jayson was not there, the winery would not still be here today. This makes this venue just that more special to us.
