We both enjoyed going to the same local watering hole with friends. One night, by chance we both were there. I was with some friends in the back talking and laughing when Jared came in with his friends. At that moment, he looked around and pointed me out to his friends and said, "That one, I want that one." He came over and introduced himself. For the next year, he pursued me. I kept telling him I just wanted to be friends, but he persisted. I finally gave in and went out for dinner. Next thing you know we are going to a Rams game and spending all our free time together. I knew he was special, and we knew we had found our person.

On Easter on 2023 we started our day by going to church to celebrate the joy of the resurrection. We were going to be celebrating with both our families that day and taking new family photos for Jared’s grandma. It had been awhile since they had done one and it was going to be a present for her. While we were setting up for the pictures, Jared received a work call and he had to go out. He was not happy about it, but we went anyways. When we got back we had to setup again for the photos. While taking photos, Jared snuck around behind me and pulled out a ring. His mom, dad, and brother said to turn around as I was playing with the dogs. When I did, I could not believe it. Not because he had gotten down on one knee, but because he had gotten down on one knee 100’s of times before. I didn’t think today was the day for playing pranks. But, he kept on smiling and staying on his knee. When I finally saw the he had a ring in his hand, I jumped into his arms and said yes immediately. He asked, “Did I surprise you?” with a big smile on his face. I was beyond surprised and happier than I thought possible. We are starting the rest of our lives together. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our live with you. See you in Chino Valley!
