Our Story

First comes chemistry, then comes marriage

In a land far away called Lubbock, TX there was a sophomore boy named Jace who was attending college at Texas Tech University. He was studying to be an engineer and was always late to class. By God's will alone he showed up to his chemistry class EARLY *audible gasp*. He leaned against a wall and looked up and saw the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen (Jace's words not Sarah's). That was not quite the experience the girl had. Now there once was a girl named Sarah, she was dedicated to becoming a doctor. She stuck close to home and went to Texas Tech University. She, unlike the boy, was ALWAYS early. Her mom always said, "Early is on time and on time is late." So she had been waiting outside the door to her chemistry class for 15 minutes when the boy leaned against the wall across from her. She saw him and thought he was cute and then they made eye contact and she panicked! He talked to her and the conversation went really well. She knew this handsome boy would take her away from her studies for sure! She called her step-mom, Ketty, baffled that people just talk to others randomly like this. The girl was very sheltered and not outgoing AT ALL. You could say the boy and the girl had...chemistry. Anyways, the Jace and Sarah stayed together throughout college. They took care of each other at parties, trying new things and foods, tough classes, and even getting a dog. Sarah decided medicine wasn't for her and psychology was the way. (Spoiler alert, that changes too!). In the end the Jace graduated Texas Tech University with a Computer Science degree. He then found a job in San Antonio, TX. They couldn't bare to be apart from one another so Jace packed up and moved with him while finishing her degree online. A year later she graduated with a degree in Psychology. She now works at their church teaching kids about Jesus. Living in San Antonio they were able to reignite their love for Jesus. Jesus helped Sarah and Jace become the woman and man today. Jesus prepared Sarah to become the wife that Jace needed her to be. While Jesus prepared Jace to be the husband and leader Sarah needed him to be. Jace says that he knew it was time to purpose because Jesus spoke to him and gave him this scripture, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." -Joshua 1: 9 (NKJV). So Jace went to buy a ring. He picked out a beautiful ring that encompassed Sarah perfectly. Sarah only said she wanted an oval diamond with either a silver or rose gold band. So Jace knowing Sarah perfectly got a ring with both silver and rose gold in the band with an oval diamond surrounded by other diamonds. It took time to get here and was misplaced at the store, but the Lord knew the right timing for them. Jace had a beautiful proposal plan where he would take Sarah camping because she wanted it to happen in nature. Sarah however wanted their dog Kevin to go on this trip. So they drove 3 hours to the camp sight with their dog Kevin. Kevin got heat stroke so they had to leave. Discouraged and heartbroken Jace took the next day to recover and lick his wounds. On June 30, 2024 Jace and Sarah went on a hike near San Antonio, without Kevin. This trail was very special to them. It's where their dog found his love for the water and its where Sarah felt for the first time that San Antonio was home. Jace took Sarah to this place with a blanket, speaker, and Jersey Mike sandwiches. They got there and no one else was there surprisingly. They hiked in and found a spot under a tree where they laid their blanket down and ate. They were both so nervous neither of them ate very much. He put on some music and asked her to dance knowing she loves to dance. He spun her around a few times while they talked. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Can you guess what she said? YESSSSSS!!!! Then they ate their sandwiches and decided it was too hot for a hike and left. THE END!
