Jace and Sarah started their adventure at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Jace was beginning his sophomore year while Sarah was just starting her freshman year. It was only the third class of the semester when Jace and Sarah first met. Outside the chemistry class they shared, Sarah was learning on the wall waiting to be let into class. She was 30 minutes early that day because her mom always said, “Early is on time and on time is late.”. Jace on the other hand was never early. However Jesus had other plans that day. Jace, unable to sleep, went to class early. *audible gasp* Jace leaned across the wall from Sarah and when they made eye contact Jace smiled, while Sarah panicked! She looked away and said in her head, “Please don't talk to me.”. Sarah was not a very social person and later called her step mom baffled at what happened next. He talked to her! *audible gasp* Can you believe people just come up to you and start talking to you? Sarah couldn't, that's for sure! They ended up having a good conversation and Sarah knew that her life was about to change forever. And it has!! They've clung to one another through changes in their majors, Sarah’s first party, trying new foods, getting a dog, graduating college, moving to San Antonio, getting their first apartment, reigniting their love for Jesus, buying their first house, getting two other dogs, and more. The more part is why we're all here though! Sarah and Jace getting engaged!!! Everyone always wonders when is the right time to propose. Jace was asking himself this same question. His answer was answered through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit reminded him of this scripture, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." -Joshua 1: 9 (NKJV). After feeling renewed strength and assurance that Jesus would be with him in every step Jace went to go buy the ring. He remembered Sarah saying she wanted an oval diamond and either a rose gold or silver band. Knowing how indecisive Sarah is, he decided to get a little of everything. The ring he chose has a rose gold and silver band and he got an oval diamond surrounded by more diamonds. Now the ring took its time getting here and was even misplaced at the store. However the Lord’s timing is always perfect and that's what Jace held on to. The ring finally came in and Jace had the proposal all planned out. He would take Sarah on a camping trip where they would hike into a beautiful lake view where he would get down on one knee and propose. However, his plans did not include their dog Kevin, but Sarah’s plans did. They took Kevin with them on the camping trip and just as they finished setting up camp Kevin got heat stroke and they had to leave. After coming back to San Antonio, Jace decided to try again and propose two days later on a hike they had taken after moving to San Antonio. This place was already special to Sarah because its where their dog fell in love with the water and where she first felt at home in San Antonio. On June 30, 2024 Jace and Sarah went on their hike near San Antonio, without Kevin this time. Jace brought a blanket, a speaker, and Jersey Mike sandwiches. After hiking in and setting up their stuff they tried to eat their sandwiches. However, both of them were so nervous they barely ate. Jace decided it was time and he put on some music and asked Sarah to dance. While dancing they talked and Jace got down on one knee. He asked Sarah to marry him and can you guess what she said? YESSS!!!!!! After putting the ring on her finger they ate their sandwiches and decided it was too hot for a hike and left. THE END!!!!
