With both of us growing up in Austin, we met in sixth grade when Sarah switched from Pacelli to Ellis for middle school. We shared a homeroom and a stellar string ensemble experience during those years (yes we did play for the Westminster 4th of July ice cream social, and no we will not be signing autographs at the wedding). Isaac still claims to this day it all started for him back then. For Sarah, she noticed Isaac senior year of high school in what again was a shared homeroom as kind and easy to talk to, and in AP Bio as funny and quite a distraction. Fast forward to spring of 2024, we both had moved back home and reconnected at church where Mona B invited Isaac to sing for Easter morning mass at St. Ed's. Sarah was reminded then of just how funny, easy to talk to, and quite distracting Isaac was, and got up the courage to ask Isaac for coffee. He said yes! And claims he was just a day behind the ask. We met at the Coffee House for 10 am coffee. A few inquisitive eyes from church were there witnessing the two new "just friends" getting coffee. This turned into a shared sandwich lunch, and from there they went walking around Mill Pond on the sunny yet windy day. There was simply too much to talk about, until Isaac got a call that we needed to bring a grandparent to the ER. Isaac asked if Sarah wanted to come, to which she asked, "do you want me to?" and the "not date" continued! Grandma Nancy was much too kind and happy to meet this "new friend" for feeling not well, but thankfully everything ended up a-okay. After that Isaac asked Sarah if she wanted to "do this again sometime" minus the ER visit and to go on a real date to which she excitedly said yes. After having to wait a whole week to see him again they went on their first date. Fast forward exactly a year and 4 days later on April 16th while watching the sunrise over Lake Superior, Isaac proposed and Sarah said "YES!"
