We met on a cold night for a study break during finals at a favorite local restaurant of ours. Quickly, it became clear that we had much in common and that conversation would not be a challenge. At one point, a song drifted across the restaurant to our table and both of us began singing along. The song was something I grew up with, and I was particularly impressed to hear Ian sing along, knowing all the words. Before we knew it, the restaurant was closing for the night and we had to leave as well. Ian left at the end of the semester, and we maintained a long distance relationship for two and half more years full of road trips, flights, short weekends, and ultimately, amazing experiences before living in the same city again.
Unfortunately, Covid-19 has become a reality in all of our lives this year. We would like to encourage anyone who is concerned about his/her safety, has pre-existing conditions, or is considered part of an at-risk population to stay at home and refrain from attending our social events at this time. Though we would absolutely LOVE your presence at the ceremony and/or dinner, your safety and health is the best gift imaginable.
