Torrey Pines Natural Reserve is a great hiking trail with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and San Diego beaches. We suggest parking at the golf course at the lodge and walking north along the sidewalk until you reach the trail head. From here you can explore the cliffs and even walk down to the beach!
A cool park for a picnic or to watch the sunset! You can see basically all of south San Diego from this point.
Windansea is a beautiful beach in Birdrock area. This beach is great for lounging or swimming; the surf break is dominated by locals here.
This beach is walking distance from where we live. We love to take our kayak out on the shores and observe the ocean wildlife. This beach is one of the more touristy spots, but if you'd like to rent a kayak and explore the ocean, this is the spot to do it!
This is where Sarah grew up going to the beach and a great spot to surf! If you'd like a more secluded area, walk south towards the cliffs. If you'd like softer sand, but maybe a few more people, walk north towards dog beach.
A beautiful, outdoor mall if you're in the mood for shopping.
Little Italy is a fun spot to explore in downtown San Diego. There are great restaurants and bars + you can walk down to the waterfront from here and explore some of the Navy ships.

Walking distance from the Lodge and the Hilton, Farmer and the Seahorse is a great spot for brunch, lunch or happy hour!
This is our favorite bakery in town, we highly recommend the ham and cheese croissant or any of their seasonal specialties! Beware, the line to order can get very long but the food is so worth it.
The Bydaleks love eating here for breakfast when they come to town! The food is great and the ambiance is fun. There's also another location in La Jolla/Birdrock area. Check this place out if you're looking for a sit down brunch!
Marisi is a great spot for italian food in La Jolla!
A West Coast classic.
Ken sushi is our absolute favorite spot to eat sushi. We suggest making reservations ahead of time, as this is a popular spot. Definitely try the Chu and O Toro for a special treat!
