Question
Where are the wedding and reception taking place?
Answer
Ceremony will be at 5 pm on the lawn of Meadow Vista House, 260 East Agatam Avenue, Tahoe Vista, CA. Please note that the wedding and reception are outdoors on unpaved surfaces. Guests are welcome to arrive at 4:30 to enjoy a drink before the ceremony. Reception will be across the street at the back of the Rustic Cottages Resort. Appetizers will be served, followed by a buffet dinner and dancing. Parking will be available in a lot at the corner of E. Agatam Avenue and N. Lake Blvd. or along Agatam Avenue.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors? What should I wear?
Answer
The wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors, under tall pine trees and on a lawn or unpaved mulched surface. Festive semi-formal/ cocktail attire is suggested. Some ground is unpaved, so ladies may not want to wear a long dress or stiletto heels. Typically the weather is warm and sunny during the day in August and will cool down as the day ends. You may want a jacket or shawl for the evening.

Where is the welcome dinner? What should I wear?
Answer
Old 40 Bar & Grill at the Donner Ski Ranch, 19320 Donner Pass Road, Norden, CA 95724, starting at 5 pm. It's about 20 miles and a 45 minute drive from the Rustic Cottages. It's a casual, funky place! Dress casually for a barbecue. If you go early you may enjoy some hiking around the area or disk golf. Plenty of parking is available. Let us know if you are bringing children.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
We have a special rate at the Rustic Cottages, the site of the wedding See the information under the Travel section of the website. Cottages are being held until one month before the wedding. You must call for reservations and give the code RusticBliss for a 50% discount. Visit https://www.rusticcottages.com/ to see options and call 1-888-778-7842 between 9 AM and 3 PM Pacific Time for reservations. There are many hotels and Air BnB rentals in the area. Be sure to look for places that are close to the Rustic Cottages at 7449 N. Lake Blvd., Tahoe Vista, CA 96148, to minimize driving.

May children come to the wedding?
Answer
The ceremony and reception on Friday are for adult guests and nursing infants. Children may come to the welcome dinner at the Donner ski ranch on Thursday. Please let us know if you are bringing children to the welcome dinner. We have included information in FAQs about nanny and babysitting services in the area as a reference for you.

Will there be bus service to the site of the welcome barbeque at the Old Forty Grill?
Answer
YES! There will be a shuttle leaving from the Rustic Cottages at 4:15 and arriving at the Donner Ski Ranch Old Forty Grill about 5 pm. The bus will return leaving at 9 pm from the Old Forty Grill. We have space for 42 people.
