How He Asked.

Is this an active date?

Grant was very particular in how he wanted to ask the question. He wanted me to have a good day, not just the date in which he asked, but the whole day. I started my day off waking up to Chick-Fil-A delivered to my door with a note. The note said I needed to get ready, as I had an appointment for a relaxing Swedish massage. When I got home from the massage, I found another note, attached to ice cream. Saying to be ready by a certain time for our date. I then asked what kind of date and what I should wear, if it was an active date, just how I should be prepared. Note: he said this was a NON-ACTIVE date! This is where the adventure began. On the drive over, I was begging to know where we were going, but he wouldn’t tell me. In my wildest dreams did I expect to find the Salt River to be as beautiful as it was. He took me back past the parking lot, where he became frantic. We walked and walked for a little bit, with no destination in sight. He then took out his phone, frantic as can be, spam calling his dad. To no answer, we went back to the car and started our search for the lost Kris Driggs. We went up to the first parking lot, found his car and wandered until we heard a call. We then began our walk for what felt like a mile, and got to a beautiful set up, nestled between two trees was a table, a candle, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and candles in mason jars hanging from the tree branches. Grant had picked up some sandwiches from one of our favorite sandwich shops and some sparking cider. We had dinner, and talked about life. After a nice dinner, we took another walk. With his dad trailing behind us, taking some beautiful pictures, we walked up to the river, where there was a gorgeous background of water, trees, and grass. He asked me to look for horses down the river, as there are often wild horses found there. When I turned around, he was down on one knee! Through tears in his eyes he asked me to marry him, to which I was over the moon to say yes!
