August Schell Brewing Co
Schell’s is the second-oldest family-owned brewery in the United States and the oldest in Minnesota. In 2002, Schell’s became the largest brewery in Minnesota with the acquisition of the Grain Belt label.
Flandrau State Park
Bring a picnic to eat under towering trees near the swimming pond, beach house and trailheads. Also borrow a set of cornhole bags and pay a round or two of cornhole or a game of volleyball. Follow the Hiking Club Trail as it loops through the park's varied landscapes.
The Hermann Monument
This 102-foot monument towering over New Ulm depicts Hermann the Cheruscan, the ancient hero whose army liberated Germany from Roman rule in 9 A.D. As German immigrants came to the United States, the legend of Hermann as the father of German independence and a symbol of honor and pride came with them.
