We initially "knew of" each other through a mutual friend the summer before we started our first semester at Miami University. When we showed up for classes that fall and our dorms were next door to each other, we knew we had to connect. Our friend groups met up at Bell Tower Dining Hall for dinner that first week (shoutout to Julia, Elle, and Jack Davis for being there when we first met!), and the rest is history!
We have talked a couple times in the past about how we knew that we were "the ones" for each other. His memory is more romantic: he can think of one specific moment from our relationship, which was our study abroad trip to Australia. Aside from all the fun excursions and fancy meals we shared together, he remembers this trip being the first time that we spent every single day together and realized that he could see himself spending the rest of his life with her.
We had just begun our family cruise along the Baltic sea with both our families- that day we had a day trip to Lithuania scheduled. After a lovely morning walking around Klaipeda and having a homemade lunch with our tour guide, we ended the day with a trip to a famous amber museum. After rushing out of the museum and leaving our families behind to "catch the tour bus," we walked along a beautiful path to a bridge above a creek where he popped the question! Little did she know, our families were right behind us and caught the moment. It was perfect! (See below for a picture of where it all happened)
