Sarah, a girl from central New Jersey, USA, always fantasized of a life in New York City. While pursuing dance and acting, she transfered to Hunter College to make her city life dream come true. Upon being presented with an opportunity to study abroad in Argentina for the winter, she seized her once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and flew down to sunny, warm South America to immerse herself in the Spanish language and culture. Facundo, a boy from Mar del Plata, Argentina, was enjoying the summer before beginning his studies in illustration at Escuela de Artes Visuales Martin Malharro. He had studied some English in school, but never used his language skills in person. These two soulmates met in Mar del Plata that summer. Even after Sarah's return to the USA, they kept in touch constantly. Their friendship blossomed. They stuck together through life's ups and downs. Best friends, they were, but unaware of what laid in their path ahead.
Love is the beauty of two lives commingling. It is the deep understanding of one another's psyches; the ability to put another's life before their own, to be selfless, to take care of someone in sickness and health, to willingly make sacrifices, and to be there in the best and worst of times. If you know even a fraction of Sarah and Facundo's love story, you will know it has been filled with sacrifices, selflessness, trust, understanding, and strength. Their friendship blossomed into true love. Though thousands of miles apart, they had never been more close. They love adventure and life. Together, they lived in the outdoors in a camper van, traveling down the coast of New Zealand with no plan in mind. They climbed and walked the Great Wall of China. They saw The Bean in Chicago. They spent their New York nights strolling through Central Park, eating delicious pizza, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, watching Broadway shows, and being dazzled by the lights of Times Square. They've enjoyed many Argentine asados, afternoons with Mate in the parks, days on the beach, and the sights of Buenos Aires. They ate on the floors (without shoes) of Japanese restaurants and walked through ancient Japanese temples and shrines. #TeamUS was created. #TeamUS, written inside their silver rings of promise, is about two people who will never leave one another. Distance is nothing. Commitment is everything. "Nada es imposible."
Facundo's commitment to Sarah led to his application for a visa to move to and be married in the United States. Sarah spent a large part of the year living in Facundo's hometown in Argentina. She spent a lot of time with his family and friends, learning about his culture which is the crux of who he is. They spent a lot of time and money filing forms, attending interviews and appointments, and waiting for answers. Would they be able to finally live together and break the boundaries? At the end of the year, they received their answer: "YES!" Facundo's visa was approved and they watched their dreams begin to unfold.
Wedding, Wedding! It is time for their wedding! That is where YOU come in! Watch the dreams of two loves from opposite sides of the world, with two different native languages, two separate cultures, and lives come together as one.
