Travel Note
There are two ways to get to North Stradbroke Island: the passenger ferry or the vehicle ferry. The passenger ferry is the more economical option, with return tickets costing $20 for adults and $12 for children. It takes about 25 minutes, and booking ahead is recommended. This is ideal for those not staying overnight or who are happy to use the island's bus service. The North Stradbroke Island bus service is $10 for a day pass and makes a few stops around the Island, one being Point Lookout! If you don't mind a bit of walking, not having a car won't matter too much. It's important to note too that the last passenger ferry leaves at 6:55 PM, so guests not staying overnight must depart our wedding reception by 6:00 PM to catch it. The vehicle ferry requires advance booking, with costs depending on your car model and the number of passengers, typically around $250 AUD return. If you’re planning to turn our wedding into a long weekend getaway or tend to overpack (lol), this might be the better choice for you! If you’d like to share costs, we’re happy to connect you with other guests for carpooling.
