Just like any good love story, when we met there was a little liquid courage involved. On a Friday night in September, we both found ourselves at a birthday party for and thrown by mutual friends who are actually in our wedding, thanks Alis and Zach! As Dayner likes to tell it: when he walked in he scanned the room and when his eyes fell on me, everything else blurred out of focus. As fate would have it, we ended up playing beer pong on the same team and the rest was history.
Dayner planned a surprise trip to London, England for my 25th birthday. He pretty much let me have free reign to plan our activities for most of the trip but requested that I leave my birthday open as he already had plans for us. He told me we were meeting with a tour guide he had arranged to take us around the city and snap one photo of us at each location. We met up with her at the iconic London Eye and she instructs us to do a few fun jumping shots. After jumping about 4-5 times she says "Dayner, why don’t you tell Sarah why you love her so much?” On the coldest and rainiest day of our trip, the love of my life dropped down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! It felt like everything around me was shaking, I barely heard a word he said. After many tears and vigorous head nods I finally caught my breath and said yes! Turns out the "tour guide" was really a photographer he had hired to capture the moment and take some beautiful pictures of us around the city. Thankfully my birthday was at the beginning of our trip so we got to spend the rest our time in London celebrating.
