Maid of Honor
Krista is my best friend and also my OLDER sister. We've done a lot together over the years (some our parents know about and some they don't!). Krista is someone I can always call when I need to chat and she always has my back. I really won the lotto in the sister department. Oh yeah...she likes Dave too!
Best Man
Chris is Auntie Da's husband (and Dave's brother!) He is a tremendous part of our lives and is always willing to lend a hand, whether with house projects, advice or help with the girls. Usually it comes with some type of witty joke as well!! Chris is a veteran and has served our country in the Navy. Thank you for your service!
Bridesmaid
Sophia is our oldest daughter and getting ready to start her senior year of high school...eek!!! She is currently working on her private pilot license and looking forward to some type of career in aviation. She loves outdoor activities on the lake in the summer and scouting out Bambi in fall. Sophia has a kind heart, a beautiful smile and a passion for animals.
Bridesmaid
Cece is our youngest daughter and our lacrosse powerhouse! She tries to limit the number of penalty's she gets per game but is pretty fierce out there. Cece loves hanging out with her friends, wakesurfing and shopping (when Dad gives her money!) She is our busy-body and always on the go. If you've heard the phrase, "what my heck?!", know that our smart, kind and sassy daughter coined this phrase at the young age of three!
Junior Bridesmaid
Mya is our oldest niece (and the one who made Sarah an Aunt!) She is Krista's oldest daughter and has a very sweet and calm demeanor. She has been a Pinckney Pirate Cheerleader for a number of years and is excited to be on the Middle School Cheer team this year as she heads into 7th grade. Mya is growing into a beautiful young lady but Auntie misses our sleepovers at the old house!!
Flower Girl
Lyla is our youngest niece and Mya's little sister. She has been known as Sarah's mini-me with some of her antics and wit! Lyla is also a cheerleader for the Pickney Pirates, loves Grandma's food and telling Papa how Grandma is really the one that's in charge! She is growing up too fast, but still loves to have Auntie and Lyla days!
Father of the Bride
My dad is one of a kind and I think they broke the mold when they made him (that might be a good thing!) He has made such an impact in my life...whether helping with house projects, teaching me how to do things on my own or giving (unsolicited) advice! My dad can find a solution to any problem. At almost 70 years old, he's still a badass and drives a 200mph race car (that he built). He's my ride or die.
Mother of the Bride
My mom is truly a saint (I mean she's been married to my dad for 43 years!) She is the most selfless person I know and ALWAYS puts other before herself. She has taught me patience, kindness and how food can pretty much solve any problem or at least put a smile on someone's face. When I had the incredible opportunity to become a stepmom, I had no doubt that I'd be able to handle anything that came my way, because of the amazing mother she has been to Krista and me. Also - her homemade pierogis are out of this world!
Mother of the Groom
Maureen is Dave's mom and the most generous and loving "Mimi" to our girls. Her chicken noodle soup can fix pretty much any ailment that comes into our house. She deserves a medal as she has put up with Dave and Chris, and all their antics over the years (chandelier, bow and arrow, pool stick, bike crash, etc). She accepted me from day one and has treated me like her daughter well before we were ever engaged or were talking about getting married. We are so lucky that she lives so close and is such a big part of our lives (and Sunday lake days!)
Officiant
Connie a.k.a Nonnie, is my mom's younger sister. When I called Connie to ask if she would officiate our wedding (and become ordained) she didn't hesitate for a min, and actually said "I can't even think of a reason why I wouldn't. Connie is all about family, doing things together and keeping in touch. For instance, she talked Krista and I into joining their spring break trip when we were in our mid-late twenties, and used fake names....did I mention she has a bit of quirky side?!?! Can't wait to see how this ceremony pans out!!!
