Our First Date

May 5th 2017

Our first date was one for the books! I could lie and say we keep trying to out do this date; but, truth be told...you can never out plan serendipity! We started out with an early dinner at Roosters. They had this amazing set up in honor of Cinco De Mayo. We sat outside the restaurant underneath these twinkle lights with live music playing. All during dinner we kept having this amazing conversation, with no eye contact. See the thing was that both of us were so nervous that every time we looked at one another all we could do was smile and blush. After dinner we walked up and down the streets until we ended up at Fort Conde. They were having free admission that was ending in minutes. We took just one look at one another smiled and walked inside. We spent at least an hour there: reading about all the history, laughing at how short people were back then and just having fun. The Fort started to close early so we left and went in front to the park. Moments after, a firework show spontaneously started at the Fort! That was when we were first able to start actually looking at one another while talking. About thirty minutes later we decided to start walking towards the car. David had other plans, instead of walking we got a ride on a bicycle carriage. How can you top that?

The Proposal

July 4, 2019

We had finally bought and moved into our first house together where David fake proposed to me for almost a month before he actually popped the question. He kept randomly getting down on one knee, grabbing my hand and asking me, "Will you...walk the dogs with me?" "Will you...eat dinner with me?" and so much more. On the fourth of July David and I decided to stay home and watch the neighborhood firework show. We shortly went to buy our very own set of fireworks to set off in the front yard. We kept taking turns setting off fireworks when we heard some behind us, I quickly turned. When I had turned back David was down on one knee, yet again! Thinking he was kidding again, I told him to get up. This is when he pulled out the ring and I knew that this time it was for real!
