Dave and I met through a mutual friend. After one dinner date we decided it would be a good idea to go to a ball together. Who doesn’t love a good old Cinderella story? Five military balls later and we are still just as smitten.

After four plus years of love and happiness we got engaged on Christmas Eve 2018. Surrounded by my family, Dave handed me some wrapped ornaments he had made. They were the bottoms of all of the Christmas trees we have put up in our house together. They were engraved with the year of the tree and ‘Merry Christmas’ on them. Then he said, “this year’s is on the tree” as I turned to look, the ornament on the tree said 2018 but instead of ‘Merry Christmas’, Christmas was scratched out and it read ‘me?’ I turned around and he was on his knee. I have never been so excited and surprised.
