Danny proposed on the first anniversary of their first date. At the end of Sarah’s shift at Cooks Creek Golf Club, her boss, Cathy, came in claiming to have seen the bald eagles that live on the property out on hole #2. She had been wanting to see the eagles all year so she hopped in a cart and raced out. Instead of eagles, she found two friends taking photos of her and Danny up on the tee box with flowers, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and a blanket from their home. The song “Marry Me” by Train was playing as Danny took a knee and told Sarah he would be the happiest man in the world if she would be his wife. Of course she said yes and they enjoyed a celebratory glass of champagne in the beautiful scenery. While they were out getting engaged, her friends and family were sneaking into the clubhouse to throw an impromptu engagement party. The whole plan was pulled off flawlessly by everyone and was the perfect evening they will always remember.
Neither Danny nor Sarah was in the market for a serious relationship, but decided to go play pool and get some drinks together for fun. Sarah not-so-politely informed Danny that she didnt think a second date was a good idea, but he convinced her to try again over sushi and frozen yogurt. Again, she decided they would be better as friends. “Ok,” he said, “let’s hang out as friends.” After swimming, chipotle, and a round of The Office DVD board game, he had her. By the fifth date, he admitted that he loved her. By the sixth, she loved him back. Now, they live together in Bexley with their dogs, Honey and Mac n Cheese, and their two cats, Drogo and Brian, as well as Danny’s daughter, Brooke, every chance they get.
