How We Met

I would love to say that Dana and I were in love at first sight and we knew right away; that time stopped and never was quite the same again. Well, for half of us this was true. Dana and I met at work. I was working at the new Morial Primary school and Dana just so happened to be a first grade teacher there. I remember walking into the building on my first day of work and seeing this beautiful, curly haired angel at the end of the hallway that stopped me dead in my tracks. She was hanging up her kid's work in the hall and I knew immediately I needed to be around her in any capacity. I introduced myself and we had a short, great chat, and it was confirmed for me; yep, it's her. The next day I approached Dana thinking she obviously was just as head over heels as me. She straight up looked me dead in my face and said, "Hey, Ashley!" I'll tell you that was an immediate bubble burst, but I was just happy she was talking to me, so I didn't correct her. It wasn't until two weeks later when someone else said hello that Dana learned my actual name. Over time, our connection and friendship grew and Dana finally flirted back. However immediately after, she very quickly followed up with "this is never, ever going to happen, by the way." Jokes on her. So basically what I'm trying to say is, I've actually tricked Dana into marrying me and we need to hurry before she catches on. In all seriousness, Dana is the absolute greatest human and I am truly in awe that I'm the one that gets to love her. I can't wait for everyone to come together to celebrate our love and how special it is. Let the gayness begin!
