We met as teachers attending a summer teacher fellowship program at Stanford University. Sarah was teaching Algebra and Geometry in Oakland, California. Damon was teaching 9th grade Biology at an all girl's public school in Brooklyn. Over conversations on equity and some Grease karaoke, we teacher nerds made an instant connection. From there blossomed a bi-coastal romance, where we continued to stay connected across the country. Fortunately, we're in the same city now (soon to be permanently in the same house). Through new schools, new "teacher camp" fellowship experiences, and continued sharing of their love of students, school communities, and bringing people together (often through karaoke), we are still the same nerds who met at Stanford nearly 5 years ago. The date of our ceremony marks just two days shy of the day we met, and we can't wait to celebrate this anniversary and their official union with all of you!
