We met at Sumter Original Brewery in April 2022 at 90's night. Cotton, straight from the lake, took Sissy and her best friend to his first SOB experience and Sarah went with Onele, eagerly dressed up for the event. He was in line for a beer, but she got one first. He made a remark about how she cut in line which struck up the conversation that ultimately led to her inviting him to hang out with her and her girlfriend. I suppose she had been stalking him all along or maybe it was the Captain America shirt 😉 Neither one of them thought at the time that it would be a start to a beautiful beginning. They spent more than a year together full of adventures: running, shrimping, fishing, traveling, and experiencing all of life’s ups and downs. In July 2023, Cotton and Sarah went with Sissy to the rodeo in Lund. Flying into Las Vegas, they spent the day with Michael and his family. Cotton was in a hurry to get to Lund, rushing to be there in time for dinner with Timmy and Mandy. After what seemed like a very long drive, they pit-stopped at the only place in-between, E.T. fresh jerky, near Area 51, of course to buy “snnaaaacccckkkkssss”. Put this place on your bucket list. Finally arriving in Lund, Cotton asked Sarah to go on a side-by-side ride to the “L” hill to watch the sunset and Sarah excitedly jumped in. At the top of the hill with a stunning view of the sun setting behind the mountains, Sarah had no idea Cotton was holding a small box behind her back as he was pointing out landmarks in the town. He backed up suddenly and said he had something to ask her. She was confused but then shocked when he got down on one knee while our friends watched through binoculars. You all can guess by reading this story what Sarah’s response was. And if you’ve made it this far and are willing to continue the journey with us, meet us June 1 in Summerville when we say “I will”.
