Corey and Sarah met at a Spartan Race in Asheville, NC. Corey and a crew of firefighters signed up for a spartan race the summer of 2017. Sarah was invited by another team member to fill an open female spot on the team. They had met each other in passing at a firefighter benefit hosted by a brewery in Raleigh earlier that same year, but didn't run into each other again until the race. About a month after the race they saw each other again at a brewery for a beer with a group of friends. The following day they had their first date and have not ceased to purse one another ever since.
Corey asked Sarah to marry him at Shuckstack Fire Tower, in the beathtaking Great Smoky Mountains. This hike has been a staple in Sarah's family for many years, but now holds an even greater element of sentimentality. The couple wandered back down the mountain after an intimate day on the Applachain Trail and spent the rest of the evening with Sarah's family in their beloved cabin on Fontana Lake.
A view that has been celebrated many times in their relationship will hold an even greater significance on the second of April, as Corey and Sarah have chosen to intimately share their vows in the Linville Gorge Wilderness.
