Collin and Sarah first met at the gym when Sarah's aunt and uncle decided they would be a perfect match. Collin got Sarah's number from her cousin, which happened to be Collin's brother's best friend. After finally meeting in person in between ab sets and weighted pull ups, they went on their first date to the Goshen Stampede. Over the next few months, they were together constantly-traveling and hiking all over Litchfield County. Collin was scheduled to go on a 2 month trip to Alaska to assist a hunting guide and follow his passions. One month in, he decided to come home early after missing Sarah, and a day later, on August 21st, the two became "official."
It was the 3 year dating anniversary for Collin and Sarah. It was a weekday, so they decided to do something simple. Collin picked up some cheddar broccoli soup from Panera, and the two left their Thomaston apartment and headed to The Pinnacle, a beautiful hiking trail that overlooks Lake Waramaug in New Preston, CT. This was the same spot where they shared their first kiss. After finishing up dinner and taking in the views, incoming clouds prompted Collin to suggest packing up to beat the weather before the long trip back down the mountain. With no one else around, Sarah was taking one last look at the sunset when Collin began to play "Fall Into Me" by Brantley Gilbert on his phone. Sarah turned around to see that Collin had pulled a ring out of the backpack she had been wearing, down on one knee, with a box in his hand. Her first words, not surprisingly, were "Are you f*%$ing kidding me?!" followed by a yes, a kiss and tears.
