What’s transportation like in San Francisco?

Answer

Just like any other city, Uber and Lyft are widely available! However, if you want to have more freedom and would like to stay in one of our recommended hotels on the coast, you should rent a car. It's important to keep in mind that if you're renting a car please do not leave ANY luggage or valuables inside. San Francisco is a very safe place to travel but we have our fair share of car break ins and rental cars are the first to be targeted.

When should we arrive in San Francisco?

Answer

It's totally up to you! As long as you're available on the 28th for the ceremony and dinner after you're free to arrive and stay as long as you'd like. We would love to spend as much time as possible with our guests.

Should we stay in the city, or somewhere else?

Answer

We've listed 4 recommended hotels. Our biased opinion is that you should stay somewhere in Pacifica or along the coast because the views are unparalleled! However, you can stay wherever you'd like.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

There should be plenty of street parking available but we recommend parking in a secure parking garage close by. The Civic Center parking garage is just across the street from City Hall and is $6 an hour.

What is the weather like in San Francisco in April?

Answer

April is hit or miss when it comes to weather here in SF. High's are usually in the mid 60's and low's are in 50's. We never know if we're going to have a sunny day or lot's of fog. Your best bet is to pack layers and always be prepared with a rain coat or a wind breaker.

Will there be a reception after the wedding?

Answer

We will be having an intimate dinner after the ceremony at an SF classic- Original Joe's. The wedding ceremony ends at 2 pm and dinner will be at 4 pm, so please feel free to explore the city in between! Original Joe's is not walking distance from City Hall and we highly recommend reserving an Uber/Lyft to get between locations. However, if you decide to rent a car and drive to the restaurant it will be unlikely that you'll find street parking close by. Original Joe's is located in North Beach, a very popular area with lots of steep hills (ladies, you probably won't want to walk in your heels). Vallejo St. Garage is a good place to park if you decide to drive. It's about 2 blocks away from the restaurant. To reiterate, please do not leave ANY belongings in your car if you drive in the city. Rental cars are frequently broken into and it's not worth the risk.
