To make a very long story short, we met while we were both running a fine dining restaurant in Redding called View 202. He was one of the main chefs in back, so I didn't recall ever seeing Chris before. Because of his gifts of leadership and passion for people, Chris was promoted to General Manager, so he became my boss. We became good friends and hung out pretty frequently along with other's from the restaurant. The owner of the restaurant didn't allow upper leadership to "fraternize" with the employees, so Chris and I came up with the nicknames Copper and Todd and disguised each other's names in our phones so that we could text and there would be no suspicions of fraternization. After various attempts to get me to be his girlfriend, we began dating a few years later, then the rest is history.
We were on a trip in Oregon and after a 20 something mile mountain bike ride through the woods. Chris took me to the top of a waterfall at the Tamolitch Blue Pools and proposed on October 18th 2017. One of the most beautiful places Ive ever seen. I had a feeling he was going to do something, but was completely surprised in the moment. True to Sarah Dawn fashion, I may have thrown my phone and cursed a tad, then I said yes.
