Our dress code is Beach Formal. We invite guests to wear polished, lightweight styles suited for both the beach and the boat—think summer dresses, linen pants or lightweight dress slacks, short-sleeve or linen button-down shirts, and relaxed suits. Dressy sandals, wedges, or flats are perfect for sand and the boat; we kindly ask guests to avoid jeans, shorts, and flip-flops. Several people have asked if we have a color scheme, and the simple answer is no. We’re going for a relaxed, beachy feel—think sunset colors, soft neutrals, and ocean-inspired tones. No strict color requirements!
Not at all. Heels, jackets, and ties are optional. The goal is to feel comfortable, polished, and ready to enjoy a warm, breezy evening by the water.
We recommend dressy sandals, wedges, flats, loafers, or boat shoes that are comfortable for walking on sand and being on a boat. Stilettos and flip-flops aren’t ideal for this setting, so choose something stylish but easy to move in.
Late May in Key West is typically warm, sunny, and breezy. Light, breathable fabrics and comfortable footwear will help you stay cool and enjoy the celebration.
While it will be warm, it can feel breezy on the water after sunset. A light wrap, shawl, or jacket is a great idea for the boat ride and evening cruise.
We’ll be enjoying island-inspired heavy hors d’oeuvres and small plates during our sunset cruise reception, along with beer, wine, soda, and other non-alcoholic beverages as we celebrate the evening together. Since dinner will be cocktail style rather than a formal seated meal, guests may want to enjoy a late lunch beforehand.
Guests will meet at a designated spot near the marina and ride together on the Conch Train to Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park for the ceremony. Guests will need to make their way to the marina—Uber, Lyft, driving, or carpooling are all great options. Afterward, the train will take everyone back to the marina for our sunset cruise. We’ll share final details and timing as we get closer! There is an entry fee for the park, but we’ve got that covered for guests riding the train with us. If you happen to miss the train and need to find your own way to the ceremony, you would be responsible for the entry fee.
Yes, we kindly request that this be an adults-only celebration.
The ceremony will take place between 3:00–5:00 PM. Our sunset cruise will begin around 6:00 PM and lasts for three hours (yes, it’s a three-hour tour — IYKYK 😉). Specific timing and meeting details will be shared as we get closer to the wedding. Please check back again closer to the big day. See the Wedding Day Transportation tab for important details.
We have a plan in place to keep the celebration going, rain or shine — though we are fully expecting sunshine in Key West.
We’ve shared hotel and travel recommendations on our website to help you find a place that works best for you. We recommend booking early, as Key West is a popular destination in late May.
