Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Sarah Kurzel and Brighton McConnell

Sarah McCulla

Maid of Honor

Another blonde, Gemini, Marching Tar Heel alumni, greater Charlotte area native, nurse named Sarah. With all of those connections, we became fast friends in pre-nursing classes at UNC, and that friendship has continued to flourish! She's always there for me when there are tough days in the hospital (and Brighton appreciates that part of the friendship so he doesn't have to hear all the gross details!)

Emily Peters

Matron of Honor

Not only a cousin, but a life-long best friend. We shared many summers up in western New York on Emily's family dairy farm, and have stayed close through all these years despite being so many states away. It was so special to be Emily's maid of honor for her wedding in 2023 and it is going to mean so much to have her there for Brighton and my big day!

Meghan Agostini

Bridesmaid

The first-born Kurzel sister and a supportive figure through all of my life. Meghan always shared her love of music... I remember blaring songs in her high school car to the point of the speakers bursting! Meghan is always there to listen and chat about life, occasionally with a yelling toddler in the background. That being said, I love getting to be Auntie 'Rah to CJ (and now baby Wyatt!)

Nicole Arnold

Bridesmaid

As the middle Kurzel sister, we spent more time tussling than talking as children... but let's just blame that on the competitiveness instilled in us! Nicole's love for playing instruments inspired me to play percussion, and I even followed in her footsteps working at a CiCi's Pizza in high school. She is always finding new, creative things for the sisters to try. And despite my attempts to keep up, her crafts are unrivaled and always look effortless! I'm excited to be an aunt for baby Allison!

Forrest McConnell

Best Man

My little brother, who has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. From growing up playing basketball in the yard and making home videos as either pirates or lip-synching singers, to supporting each other each day as young adults...Forrest and I have come a long way together and wouldn't be who we are without the other. Visits back and forth from Charlotte, Durham and back home in Pisgah Forest are never long enough.

Yates McConnell

Groomsman

Cousin, confidant, former housemate, and podcast co-host...Yates is a man of many titles. I closely bonded with him in our middle and high school years over our love for movies, pop culture, and ridiculous jokes. Despite now living out in Colorado, he often keeps me company with phones calls during Sarah's shifts. We both feel so lucky to have Yates be part of our big day.

Will Shropshire

Groomsman

After meeting at UNC through the drumline, Will and my friendship has grown and grown as we went through college and started adulthood. Forged through road trips to visit the Preakness Stakes and minor league baseball games, days practicing snare drum, and night hosting each other for dinners in Durham, Sarah and I have both been lucky to have Will as such a close friend through all these years.

Noah Pieper

Groomsman

Another fast friend from Carolina's drumline, Noah is easily one of the kindest and most supportive people we know. Between college and post-graduation years living the greater Chapel Hill area, he's been there for both of us (even living with Sarah!) and he always makes everyone's day better — especially on game nights. Being part of his wedding with Stephanie was a big highlight of 2024, and I'm honored to have him be part of ours!
