COVID19 Update

** PSA: Bring CASH (not card or check) to the wedding in case you need to pay for drinks by the end of the night! There is an ATM at the resort, but not down by the tent.** We have been told that our wedding date is CONFIRMED!!! We know that people may still be unsure about traveling for our big day, and please know that we completely understand! We are going forward with our plans because Brian will be deployed next summer, and we would rather celebrate masked-up and socially distanced than without friends or family :) That being said, we are implementing Covid-19 precautions at our event. We met with Targhee and they are required by law to alter certain practices for weddings. You will be REQUIRED to wear face masks during certain parts of the night, so please bring some you like, or we will have some for you. There will be servers instead of a buffet, seating will be much more spaced out, and the entire night is outside! If you wanted to come to our wedding and stay 6 feet away from everyone the entire night, it would be completely possible!! We will also have hand sanitizer everywhere and the dance floor is taped off so we will be socially distanced. Targhee is extremely well organized with the change in plans, and have already had weddings happen flawlessly. We are lucky to have an outdoor venue with such a wonderful, health conscious staff! Thank you for being flexible and and patient with us! We need to give an official food order by the end of July, so please try to RSVP before then. Reach out if you have questions about anything! And OF COURSE, please do not come if you have any symptoms or have been in close contact with anyone who tested positive. Targhee is giving full refunds at any time this summer for that very reason. We can't wait to celebrate with you, Sarah and Brian

How We Met

Brian claims he first fell in love with Sarah's fly fishing back-cast. After meeting through mutual friends, they settled on a first date to Soda Lake. While Brian was admiring Sarah's form, she was quickly falling for his southern charm. After that, their relationship consisted mainly of outdoor adventures and traveling to see each other. In the course of dating, Brian joined the Navy, deployed twice, moved to California and endured many odd jobs to reach his goals. Sarah became a doctor of physical therapy, moved to live near Brian, adopted their first fur child, and landed a dream job in Jackson. They now make the perfect team and are grateful for every step they took along the way.

The Proposal

After carrying the ring with him for 6 months, Brian finally found the absolute perfect day to ask Sarah to be his wife. They were skiing up Shadow Mountain in Jackson, and had the entire place to themselves. Tucker was bounding through untracked powder and the sky was completely clear and sunny. They skied out to a picturesque point with the Tetons in the background, and while on cross-country skis, Brian got down on one knee. It was the easiest decision Sarah had ever made to accept his proposal!

Change of Plans

Following the proposal, Brian was to be deployed for a year. They planned to have the wedding June of 2021. However, at the end of March, the Navy changed plans and delayed Brian's deployment by 6 months. This meant a quick and efficient change of wedding date and a few months of chaos to make it happen this summer! But we were lucky enough to lock down an available date at Targhee and plan amidst COVID-19 world. We are grateful to everyone for being understanding and accommodating to our crazy lives!
