Question

What is the Cabriolet/ Gondola?

Answer

The Cabriolet/Gondola is a standing ski lift that can fit about 8 people at a time. To get to our ceremony, our guests will join us by taking a 6 minute ride on the lift to the top of the mountain. The gondola has open floors, though mats may be provided for guests with heels. Chairs can be provided for guests who need to sit for that period of time. The lift typically moves slowly while allowing guests to get on and off. At the time of our wedding, the Mountain Creek Bike Park will be open, while you board the lift, mountain bikers will be boarding other gondolas at the same time (you will not be sharing your ride with any bikes). Please give yourself enough time to get to the top of the mountain for the ceremony, as the capacity per lift is 8 people or less!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony starts at 5:00pm! As it takes some time to get to the top of the mountain, we request that our guests begin to make their way to the lift at 4:15pm. LAST RIDE is at 4:45pm, please save the "Walshing around" for the reception.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We will be dressed in our best and hope you will join us by doing so, too! Please note, we will have an outdoor ceremony at the top of the mountain. To get to the top, guests will be riding the Cabriolet "Gondola", which is a standing ski lift with open floors. Mats may be provided to guests with heels. There is a short walk on a dirt path as well.

Question

Will we see your dogs?

Answer

Our FOUR dogs, Fletcher, Bijou, Paxton, and Lyra, will be attending the ceremony and walking down the aisle. It's a big job for the four of them, and they will be happy to say hello after our ceremony!

Question

What about the other (service) dogs?

Answer

We anticipate having guests with service dogs in attendance. We politely remind all of our guests to not distract any service dogs: please do not pet, call out too, or otherwise distract these dogs doing hard work.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please let Sarah or Brian know as soon as possible the nature of your food allergy so that our caterer is prepared to accommodate you.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is parking on-site. Mountain Creek will block off the closest parking lot to the Red Tail Lodge for wedding guests.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There will be no transportation to and from hotels to the ceremony, though there will be plenty of parking at Mountain Creek. The nearest hotel is the Appalachian, which is at the same location as the ceremony and reception.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and Guest" then yes, if not, we would prefer it was just you.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Please check your invitations for what guests are invited for the night.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We would love if you joined us in staying at the Appalachian, which is on the premises of both the ceremony and the reception.
