We matched on an obscure dating app called Upward and Brayton hit me with a killer first message of "Hey." From the first few days of us messaging, I could tell he wanted to spend time and get to know me. Our first date was on July 3, 2021 and we had an impromptu screening of Legally Blonde on VHS. We ended up going on 3 dates before he asked me to be his girlfriend.

During my spring break in March 2023 we took a roadtrip to Toronto, Canada. I had a feeling Brayton might propose but I didn't think he had brought a ring amongst all our luggage. On our fourth day in the city, we Uber'd to Trillium Park on Toronto's harbourfront to take in the beautiful skyline of the biggest city the two of us had ever been to. We walked out on a concrete area and sat and chatted for a while, but before we turned around to leave, Brayton got on one knee and said some very mushy-gushy things that only we know. It was a beautiful, private moment between Brayton and myself... and the two random Torontonians who cheered us on from the shore.
