FAQs

If you have any other questions not answered here, please contact either Ben or Sarah. We can answer them for you (probably)!
Question

Wait...I thought you guys were already married?

Answer

We are! We got married at Chicago city hall in March of 2025 in an intimate ceremony with just our immediate families. We want to celebrate with our extended family and friends during our reception this May.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please let us know if you can join us by Friday, April 3, 2026, so that we can make sure we have enough food and seating for everyone.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We are big fans of your kids, but the reception will be adults-only.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We’re asking for cocktail attire (fun cocktail dresses and suits)

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! Please contact Ben or Sarah about your food allergies so that we can coordinate with the restaurant. They serve a seasonal menu, so we won't know the exact food options until closer to the event; however, they will be able to accommodate allergies.

Question

Is there parking for reception?

Answer

There isn't a parking lot at the reception venue (The Dawson). There may be some street parking, but it's not always easy to find. We would recommend parking at your hotel and taking public transit or ride share to either venue. For those who are staying outside of the city, there are lots that are available in the area. You can check the Park Chicago application (or others!) for additional information, or let us know if you have any questions.

Question

Where do you both like to eat locally?

Answer

Here are our favorites! * Noble Thai. A quick and easy Thai spot to get a warm curry or noodle dish for takeout. * Small Cheval. These are our favorite fries in the city! A quick place with multiple locations to get a quick meal or carry out. * Monteverde. Good pasta and shared plates. Reservation highly recommended. * Avec. Mediterranean shared plates. Reservation highly recommended. * Kasama. Filipino bakery that's great for breakfast. Order online to avoid waiting in line. * Mindy's Bakery. Local Chicago pastry spot. The line can get long, but it moves fast. * Del Sur. Filipino bakery that's also great for breakfast. The line can get long, but moves fast. * Pequod's. Our favorite Chicago deep dish. Make a reservation and prepare for amazing pizza. * Egg Tuck. Fluffy egg sandwiches and tots. Good for a morning or lunch takeout. * La Colombe. Great coffee and seasonal cold brew.
