There are so many hiking options around Leadville - from climbing an epic 14er (14,000' peak) to enjoying lakeside strolls. Here are a few we recommend: 14ers - Hard Hikes! Mt Elbert: Colorado's highest peak is in our backyard. This is a BIG day that requires hiking with an elevation gain of over 4,000 feet. If you're interested in doing this 14er, reach out to us. You'll want to start early (pre-sunrise) and be diligent about packing layers, food, and understanding weather. Mt Sherman: right in Leadville, this is a short, steep climb. It's not the hardest peak, but it's STEEP! More Casual Hikes - Turquoise Lake: Located just about 5 miles from town, you can enjoy amazing views along the lake, with mostly flat terrain. Perfect for most abilities. - Twin Lakes: About 20 minutes from Leadville, another lake hike that is relatively flat. A great adventure is to the historic, and now abandoned, Interlaken Resort - which is about 3 miles one way (6 miles roundtrip).

This summer-season only outdoor beer garden is a new addition as of summer 2024. Super casual, all outdoors, they usually have various food trucks and yard games. Pro-tip: sunset views tend to be great with views of Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive!
