it all started here

In June 2019, Ben surprised Sarah for her birthday with a casual 50 kilometre hike in Tasmania. With no warning, or preparation, Sarah and Ben had to do a mad dash to the city before hitting the airport to stock up on essential items such as toilet trowels. Unbeknownst to Sarah, Ben had also packed an engagement ring, which he would pull out on day 3 of said trek, at the most breathtaking lookout (pictured above). It was a beautiful, simple and heartfelt moment, and in gortex and thermals and fogged up glasses, Sarah tearily and joyously accepted the offer of marriage. Ben was also instantly forgiven for dragging her along a 50 km trek in the icy rain and winds of a Tasmanian winter. So here we are; engaged and ready to wed in 2020.
