Flight

Naples or Rome, Italy

Naples, Italy is the closest airport to Positano (approximately a 1.5 hour drive). Rome, Italy is another option but further (approximately a 3 hour drive). From the airport, you will have to make your way to Positano via private transfer, ferry, bus or rental car.

Rental Car

If you decide to travel to Positano using a rental car, please make sure there is parking available at your hotel/ accommodation. There is typically a daily fee for this. The drive from Naples to Positano is 1.5 hours, and the driving conditions can be difficult/ tight as the town is built on a cliff. The drive from Rome to Positano is approximately 3 hours. There are tolls that require cash along the way.

Train

Train

Trains are available to Salerno and Sorrento, but you would have to transfer again by ferry or other means from there. There is not a train directly to Positano.

Ferry

There is not a direct ferry from Naples to Positano. Sailings are available from Capri, Salerno, and Sorrento to Positano in October on a limited basis.
