Everyone! Please come! Weddings are a busy time, and the stress of planning, travel, and everything else that goes into one can be exhausting. Please come and pray for our Sacrament and life together, as well as be refreshed through personal prayer time with the Lord of all. We want to keep Him at the center of the weekend and in all the interactions we have with one another.
Let's break the presumption that weddings have to start late! Please arrive around 15-30 mins before the wedding, so we can get everyone seated, and Mass can get started on time!
Sunday Mass attire is requested for Mass and the reception. Please dress appropriately for a Catholic Mass! Please refrain from shorts and low-cut or short dresses. The reception will take place inside but there will be access to porches if you'd like to get fresh air!
Yes! Mass is very very important for us Catholics, and especially the receiving of the Eucharist at Holy Communion. If you are not a practicing Catholic in the state of grace, please refrain from receiving the Eucharist during the wedding Mass. We, as well as the Catholic Church as a whole, are so delighted you came to share in our day. If you would like to stand in the line to receive communion, please do so with your arms crossed in an X shape over your chest. This will signal to the priest to give you a blessing instead of the Eucharist! Or, you may remain in your pew during communion!
Our nuptial mass on Saturday does not fulfill the Sunday mass obligation for Catholics. Here are some of the Sunday mass times of churches in the area: St. Aloysius--Hickory: 8am (English), 11am (English), 1pm (Spanish), and 5:15pm (Teen Mass) St. Joseph's--Newton: 9am (English) and 11:45am (Spanish) St. Dorothy's--Lincolnton: 9am (English) and 12pm (Spanish)
