Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Welcome to Tulum! Average daily temperatures while visiting Tulum in November can range from 80-83°F (26-28°C). When the sun goes down, temperatures in Tulum average about 72-80°F (22-26°C). In November, the sun rises at about 6:45am, and sets at about 6pm.

Question

What is Shagun?

Answer

Customarily at the Maiyan and Anand Karaj events, "Shagun" is given to the wedding couple. Shagun is a gift that is given as a token of good luck and is a way to shower the wedding couple with blessings. It can be thought of similarly to Chinese lucky red envelopes. There will be opportunities to give small (with an emphasis on small!) monetary gifts to the wedding couple as Shagun at the Maiyan and Anand Karaj.

Question

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during events?

Answer

For all events other than the two wedding ceremonies, we would love for you to take photos and share them on our google drive, which you can find linked below. However, we kindly ask that guests refrain taking photos during the Anand Karaj and the Symbolic Wedding Ceremony as this will interfere with our professional photographer and videographer shots. We will be sure to share some of the professional shots on this same google drive so that you can have access to photos of the ceremonies that way! (Link to Drive coming soon)

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Please let us know right away and we will ensure your dietary restrictions are accommodated at our events.

Question

What do I do with the wedding hashtag #amritsweddingsarahmony?

Answer

Get it? sarahmony = ceremony Please use our hashtag in your caption when posting to social media. This will allow us to see all of our guests' photos in one place!

Question

Are the events indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All ceremonies are outdoors, aside from our reception which will be indoors. Please see our schedule page for venue locations for each ceremony.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Please see our schedule page for the dress code for each event.

Question

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Answer

Calling all ladies! The Welcome Breakfast + Mehndi, Maiyan + Jaggo and Anand Karaj: There are lots of grassy/sandy areas that you will have to walk on so wear chunky heels or sandals for optimal comfort. The Symbolic Wedding, Cocktail Hour and Reception: These events will be on hard flooring so heels are okay, but keep in mind there may be photos on the beach.
