Flight

O'Hare International Airport (ORD)

Located about 17 miles northwest of River North, O'Hare is one of the busiest airports in the world and serves as a major hub for domestic and international flights. There are various transportation options into the city, including the CTA Blue Line, taxis, rideshare options, and rental cars. Travel time to River North can be from 30-60 minutes depending on traffic.

Flight

Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)

Midway is approximately 12 miles southwest of River North and primarily serves domestic flights. It's a small and may be easier to navigate than O'Hare. You can get to River North via the CTA orange line, taxis, or rideshares. Travel time is around 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic.

Train

CTA

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is an easy and affordable option to get around Chicago, using its extensive network of trains and buses. Using the CTA: - ‘L’ Trains: The CTA’s elevated trains connect River North to other parts of the city and both airports. The Blue Line services O’Hare, while the Orange Line connects to Midway. - Buses: CTA buses run throughout the city, offering another way to navigate between neighborhoods. How to Use Ventra: To make traveling easier, you can use Ventra, Chicago’s contactless payment system for public transit. - Ventra App: Download the Ventra app to buy transit passes, track buses or trains in real-time, and manage travel options. - Ventra Card: Purchase a physical Ventra card at airport vending machines or convenience stores. Simply tap it at train stations or on buses. - Mobile Payments: You can also pay directly through the app using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or contactless bank cards. Fares are around $2.50 per ride, and multiple-day/weekend passes are available for unlimited rides during your stay.
