Alberto and Sarah met in the spring of 2022 at Union College. Sarah had already been there for a year, and Alberto had just transferred in. As corny as it sounds, it truly was love at first sight. They started spending time together, and it didn’t take long for both of them to realize that they wanted to be more than friends. Their official anniversary is still a running joke—Alberto swears it was March 7th, and Sarah insists it was March 8th. After plenty of playful debate, they finally compromised and chose March 7th. During their time at Union, they both enrolled in the Master of Athletic Training program and eventually graduated with both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Sharing that journey made it all the more meaningful, but it definitely wasn’t easy. Every summer for three months, Alberto returned home to San Diego, California, to work and spend time with his family. Then in the fall of 2024, they spent six months at different universities completing their internships, miles apart once again. Through every challenge—distance, school, and long days—Sarah and Alberto never gave up on each other and never stopped loving one another. And on May 12, 2025, after graduation, Alberto got down on one knee, nervous as ever, and asked Sarah to spend the rest of her life with him. After four years of hard work, growth, and love, Sarah and Alberto knew without a doubt that they wanted to marry each other and grow old together.
