Where it began

On Sept 11, 2016, the first Sunday of football season, Sarah joined her friends Emily (then Rosaio) and Randy Neil for Sunday football in Kennett Square, PA, at Adam's apartment. Between Adam and Sarah, only one of them remembers this meeting... the other was preoccupied with football (we'll let you guess who's who). It wasn't until June 15, 2019 that Adam and Sarah were brought together one more time, by none other than Emily and Randy, for their wedding in Milford, DE. This time was different though. With John and Brooke Krapf acting as Wingman/Wingwoman to Sarah, they got Adam on the dance floor and the rest is history! Adam and Sarah danced the night away and partied into the early morning hours. Before getting into his uber, the two exchanged numbers and then text messages for the next few days. Finally, after 4 whole days of texting, Adam asked Sarah on their first date. They went to the Creamery in Kennett Square and enjoyed each other's company and conversation, the beautiful atmosphere, and great drinks. While there, they ran into an old co-worker of Adam's who asked "how long have you been together?" Not wanting to say it was their first date, Adam blurted out " 1 year" ... he knew early on this was meant to be!

Life During Covid

On March 10, 2020, Sarah packed a weekend bag to "quarantine" with Adam for 2 weeks. 5 months later, Sarah packed up the rest of her stuff and officially moved in with Adam. The couple had planned to move in together during the summer of 2020, but COVID had other plans and sped up that timeline a little. Sarah and Adam were both fortunate enough to be able to work from home throughout the pandemic which meant spending time together, 24/7. Their relationship grew stronger everyday by spending quality time together walking Tyler, tackling projects around the house, listening to the Taylor Swift Folklore album on repeat, watching countless hours of reality TV, experimenting in the kitchen with their sourdough starter, Jean Claude, taking turns planning covid-friendly date nights, and using elaborate cheese boards and bottles of wine to get through the daily White House Press Briefings. The couple found the silver lining of the pandemic through the growth and strength of their relationship over the last year and a half.

The Proposal

"The Proposal" happened on Saturday, March 27, 2021. To get to this day, Adam had to lie, evade questions, and hide things from Sarah, which was made even more difficult by the pandemic and the fact that Adam had no legitimate reason to leave the house to go ring shopping and meet up with the parents. But, he pulled it off! Sarah now knows that it's not normal to golf in February. Throughout the whole process, only once was Adam's cover almost blown. If you're looking for a funny story about the bride's father, a deer, and the ring - just ask! After procuring the ring, talking to the parents, and picking the date, all that was left for Adam to do was pick the perfect location. To find the perfect spot, he enlisted help from the one and only, Tyler. In early March while Sarah was away in Charleston, SC, Adam and Tyler took a lot of walks in White Clay Park, and landed on the Thompson Station Trail, which is also a favorite fly fishing spot for Adam. The morning of Saturday 3/27, the couple (and Tyler) found themselves on the shore line of the White Clay Creek "looking for trout". Adam didn't see any, so he knelt down to see if he could "see any from this angle". When Sarah turned around to see if he was having any luck, she noticed Adam on one knee, pulling something out of his pocket, and saying words that didn't quite register in the moment. Once she realized that this was it... this was happening, she burst into tears and immediately said "YESSSSS". To appease Tyler, they still took their planned walk, but rushed home afterwards to begin sharing the news with friends and family!
